Also Consider. Things the Model Doesn't Capture

  • Case pipeline lead timeCases starting now settle in ~26 months. To hit year-3 revenue, the intake engine needs to be running at that pace today.
  • New-hire rampAttorneys typically take 6–12 months to reach full productivity.
  • Office spaceCurrently 30 people. At 30% CAGR the firm doubles headcount in ~2.7 years.
  • Marketing and client acquisitionPlaintiff PI firms typically spend 8–15% of revenue on marketing.
  • AttritionExpect 10–15% annual attrition on legal staff.
  • Case mix shiftHigher-value work needs more senior attorney time per case.
  • Software and infrastructurePer-seat license costs scale with headcount. Malpractice premiums scale with revenue.

    Also Worth Noting

    • All chart dates come from the Target Close column in Airtable. This is the manually-maintained month/year the team expects the case to close and money to be received. Cases are placed mid-month on the chart. 8 cases have non-date values ("Mediation Failed" or "Before Scheduling Order") and are excluded from the chart.
    • Attorney load imbalance.Kayleigh Smith is logging ~4x the hours of the other three PI attorneys. Some of that is Jess and Sabine splitting time with community outreach, but worth reviewing.
    • Pipeline concentration.19 cases are stuck at "Discovery Served", the largest single stage. Worth investigating whether that's normal throughput or a backlog.
    • HV punches above its weight.12 HV cases = 13% by count but 31% of pipeline value. Losing one HV case in mediation has more revenue impact than losing 5 BB cases at Demand.
Resource Utilization Snapshot Actual case hours logged in Clockify from January 2025. Admin, PTO, holiday, intake, and community outreach excluded. Attorney capacity is 448 hrs/mo (3.5 PI-equivalent attorneys). Paralegal capacity varies with headcount from Gusto.
